On February 27, 2026, the Department of Foreign Languages held a scientific and methodological seminar titled “THE USE OF AUTHENTIC MATERIALS IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE CLASSES.”
The speakers were: Senior Lecturer Liudmyla KORNIENKO, Senior Lecturer Olena KREKOTEN, and PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Vasyl BILOKOPYTOV.
During the event, the following issues were discussed:
- didactic potential of authentic materials;
- learning strategies for processing foreign-language video materials;
- clip thinking versus emotive perception;
- the influence of emotions on the perception of materials;
- the use of YouTube videos in the study of the course “Foreign Language and Pedagogy and Methodology of Teaching in Higher Education,” among others.
Attention was also given to the methodology of working with authentic video materials, and recommendations for using these materials in foreign language classes were discussed.
