PHD STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF BIOLOGY AND TECHNOLOGY OF SNAU VISITED THE BREEDING REPRODUCER OF THE PRIVATE AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISE “KOMYSHANSKE”

PhD students of the Faculty of Biology and Technology Anastasiia Belchenko, Tetiana Kuchkova, and Ihor Kompanets, conducted an educational and practical visit to a horse breeding reproducer in the village of Komyshi, Okhtyrka district, as part of their scientific research at SNAU.

The enterprise is a base farm and a major stakeholder of SNAU, playing an important role in the practical training of students of the second level of higher education, the implementation of educational programs, and the development of effective interaction between the university and the production sector.

During the visit, the PhD students familiarized themselves with the specifics of keeping, feeding, and breeding work in horse farming. The breeding reproducer keeps horses of the French Trotter and Tavrian breeds, which allowed for a deeper understanding of breed characteristics, reproduction methods, and directions for improving the breeding stock.

Particular attention was paid to issues of breeding records, veterinary and sanitary support, animal welfare, and the role of breeding reproducers in preserving and developing domestic and imported horse gene pools.

It is worth noting the significant contribution of the breeding reproducer to the development of the university’s material and practical base. Within the framework of partnership cooperation, the enterprise donated two horses to Sumy National Agrarian University, thereby creating additional opportunities for conducting educational and scientific research, providing practical training for PhD students, and implementing educational and scientific programs.

We sincerely thank Volodymyr Ivanovych Zubko for fruitful cooperation, constant support of Sumy National Agrarian University, openness to educational and scientific initiatives, and the opportunity to provide practical training, professional communication, and the exchange of experience between production representatives and the academic community.

The cooperation of SNAU with base enterprises and breeding reproducers is an important component of practice-oriented training and high-quality scientific work for future Doctors of Philosophy.
