GUEST LECTURE ON “THE SPECIFICS OF TRAINING ASSISTANCE DOGS” FOR MASTER’S STUDENTS IN THE “CYNOLOGY” PROGRAM

On September 16, 2025, a guest lecture titled “The Specifics of Training Assistance Dogs” was conducted for master’s students in the “Cynology” educational program.

The lecture was delivered by Vytautas Gustaitis, the founder and president of the Baltic Cynological Center, as well as a lecturer at the Karalius Mindaugas Vocational Training Centre in Lithuania. He shared insights from the experiences of cynology specialists at his center, particularly regarding the use of service dogs – a topic highly relevant to Ukraine.

Vytautas Gustaitis covered several important subjects, including:

– Selecting dogs and testing puppies

– The stages of training

– Defining the tasks and skills needed based on a client’s specific requirements

– Economic and legal aspects of utilizing and certifying assistance dogs.
