On November 21, 2025, a guest lecture was conducted on Microsoft Teams for students in grades 9-11 at the Municipal Institution of the Sumy Regional Council “Putyvl Arts Lyceum”.
The lecture topic was “MEDIA MANIPULATION”.
The event was organized and conducted by Tetiana FOMENKO, Associate Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages at SNAU. The meeting was also attended by Serhii Oleksandrovych Karpets, Deputy Director for Educational Work at the Municipal Institution of the Sumy Regional Council “Putyvl Arts Lyceum”; Kateryna Vasylivna Koltunova, a 9th-grade class teacher and English language teacher; and Roman Semenovych Titov, a 10th-grade class teacher.
During the session, the students discussed the positive and negative influences of the media, learned to distinguish between “misinformation”, “disinformation”, and “malinformation”, watched videos on psychological manipulation in advertising, and analyzed examples of advertising that used psychological manipulation techniques. The participants also discussed ways to prevent manipulation in the media.
The students actively engaged in the discussion, which helped improve their communication skills and develop media literacy.
