On April 16, 2026, Maryna BILOZERKOVETS, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages, conducted a guest lecture for students and faculty of Foreign and Slavic Philology at the Sumy State Pedagogical University.
Topic: “Overcoming Barriers in Intercultural Communication – A Case Study of Agricultural Idioms in English, Ukrainian, and Chinese.”
The lecture provided an overview of research conducted by faculty members of the Department of Foreign Languages at SNAU.
The lecturer noted that the research aimed to analyze the formation factors and key concepts of Ukrainian, English, and Chinese idioms within the conceptual sphere of “Agriculture.” These idioms embody concepts, stereotypes, symbols, and mythologems associated with the agrarian sector, helping to identify both similar and distinct characteristics of the worldviews of the Ukrainian, English, and Chinese linguistic and ethnic communities.
The interactive lecture generated an engaging discussion and garnered positive feedback from the audience.
