On September 17, 2026, faculty members and students from the Faculty of Biology and Technology participated in the concluding scientific and practical conference for the program “Support for Value-Added Milk Production by Family Farms and the Development of Agro-Scouting in Livestock Farming,” held at Poltava State Agrarian University.
The event program focused on key challenges in modern livestock farming; participants discussed the implementation of new EU integration requirements regarding cattle welfare, farm digitalization, reproduction issues, health protection, disease prevention, and more.
Academic staff from the Faculty of Biology and Technology actively participated in the event, sharing their expertise. In his presentation titled “Business–Education–Science,” Volodymyr Ladyka—a professor at the Department of Livestock Production and Processing Technology and Cynology—highlighted a strategic issue: the partnership between business and educational institutions in training future specialists, citing the university’s successful implementation of dual education as an example. Volodymyr Ivanovych emphasized that the modern agricultural sector requires specialists with practical skills who are capable of rapidly implementing innovations in production.
A key focus of the project’s final stage was the development of livestock agro-scouting. Tetiana Kuchkova, PhD and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Animal Genetics, Breeding, and Biotechnology, served as the supervisor for the student scouts from the Faculty of Biology and Technology. She noted that the participation of student scouts in the project offered a practical opportunity to integrate theoretical knowledge into real-world production processes and to monitor animal health at the Komyshanske Private Agricultural Enterprise. The student scouts also shared their experiences, demonstrating a high level of preparedness, a strong sense of responsibility, and a genuine interest in innovations within the livestock sector.
