On October 15, 2026, at 9:30 AM, a guest lecture titled “Alternative Protein Sources in the Diet of Farm Poultry” was held for students of the Faculty of Biology and Technology at Sumy National Agrarian University.

The lecture was delivered by Prof. (Full) Dr. Teodora Popova, a leading researcher at the Laboratory of Fundamental Scientific Research in Animal Husbandry (Institute of Animal Science, Kostinbrod, Bulgaria). The presentation covered modern approaches to utilizing alternative protein sources in animal husbandry and shared findings from the speaker’s own research on incorporating *Tenebrio molitor* (mealworms) into the diets of chickens. Professor Teodora Popova provided detailed insights into the experiment and its impact on the biological and economically valuable traits of the poultry; she also highlighted interesting behavioral observations noted during the study.

The lecture generated significant interest among both students and faculty, with several questions sparking a lively scientific discussion. The information presented not only helps students master the fundamentals of the course “Poultry Production Technology” but also introduces them to the latest global trends in this field.
