Sumy National Agrarian University hosted an Open Day, bringing together prospective students, their parents, faculty members, and current students. The event offered a wonderful opportunity to get to know the university better and to learn about academic programs, admission requirements, and prospects for professional development.

The meeting was held online and consisted of a general university session followed by interactions with faculty representatives. During the first part of the event, Rector Ihor Kovalenko welcomed the participants and outlined the university’s achievements and future development plans. Student Rector Andrii Makarenko shared his experience of studying abroad and spoke about travel opportunities and student life. Faculty representatives introduced guests to the various majors, the specifics of the educational process, and admission rules, while also highlighting the benefits of preparatory courses.

The practical aspect of the studies was showcased by Ihor Lytiuha, a student of the faculty who works in his field at Avis Ukraine LLC. Using his own experience as an example, he demonstrated how it is possible to combine education with industrial work and gain professional experience while still studying. A key highlight of the event was the virtual tours of the faculty’s educational laboratories and practical training facilities. Prospective students had the opportunity to glimpse the professional world of various specializations and see how theoretical knowledge is integrated with hands-on practice.

Tetiana Kuchkova invited guests to the Biochemistry and Biotechnology Laboratory, where she explained its purpose, research capabilities, and the practical work students undertake under faculty guidance.

Oleksandr Chekh conducted a tour of the Aquaculture Laboratory, introducing participants to its equipment and aquatic inhabitants, while explaining the specifics of their care and study.

The final stop on the tour was the equestrian sports facility. Larysa Kalinichenko spoke about the equestrian club, opportunities to join classes and interact with the horses, and invited those interested to try their hand at horseback riding.

The Open Day demonstrated that the Faculty of Biology and Technology offers not only high-quality education but also practical experience, scientific research opportunities, an active student life, and broad prospects for professional development.

We sincerely thank all participants for their interest, openness, and engaging interaction! We hope to see prospective students among the student community of Sumy National Agrarian University.
