On October 14, 2026, Olena KREKOTEN and Olha TAMARKINA, faculty members of the Department of Foreign Languages, visited Sumy Specialized School No. 29 (Grades I–III) No. 29 and held a career guidance session with schoolchildren in Class 11-A, aimed at introducing them to the university’s educational opportunities, majors and degree programs, the specifics of the admissions process, and prospects for future professional development. During the meeting, the faculty members introduced the high school students to the activities of Sumy National Agrarian University, its structure, and the main areas of study for higher education students.
Special attention was given to presenting the university’s faculties, describing current academic programs, and highlighting opportunities to obtain a high-quality higher education in line with the individual interests, abilities, and career preferences of prospective students. During the career guidance session, students were informed about the specifics of the admissions process, the procedure for applying to institutions of higher education, the requirements for applicants, and the main stages of the admissions process.
The discussion also covered the choice of a future career, the significance of professional self-determination, and the importance of a thoughtful approach to selecting a major, taking into account current labor market demands. Special attention was given to opportunities for student development at the university, particularly participation in research, educational, and international events, academic mobility programs, and other initiatives aimed at expanding students’ professional and personal potential. Holding such events is an important component of the career guidance work carried out by the Department of Foreign Languages, which aims to support young people’s career self-determination, foster motivation to pursue higher education, and establish cooperation with general secondary education institutions.
