Mapping of Educational Programmes

On 17 February, a working meeting dedicated to the mapping of educational programmes in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was held at Sumy National Agrarian University, with the participation of University’s academic staff and representatives of the Quality Assurance Department.

During the meeting, the results of the mapping analysis of the educational programmes for the Faculty of Biology and Technology were presented. In particular, the compliance of the educational and professional programme (EPP) “Technology of Livestock Products Production and Processing” (Master’s level) with key Sustainable Development Goals was thoroughly examined.

The speaker emphasised that the evaluation of the educational components of the aforementioned  programme confirms their significance in achieving the following UN Sustainable Development Goals:
●Zero Hunger (Goal 2) – ensuring food security and developing sustainable methods of food production;
●Good Health and Well-being (Goal 3) – implementing modern approaches to veterinary medicine, food safety control, and improving public health;
●Quality Education (Goal 4) – training highly qualified specialists capable of implementing innovative technologies in livestock production and processing;
●Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (Goal 9) – advancing scientific research and use of the latest technologies in the field of the agricultural sector ●Sustainable Cities and Communities (Goal 11) – promoting environmentally responsible management and development of rural areas;
●Partnerships for the Goals (Goal 17) – fostering collaboration with scientific institutions, agro-industrial enterprises, and international organisations to implement joint projects.

The meeting marked an important step in improving the educational programmes of Sumy National Agrarian University in response to modern challenges and global sustainable development trends. The participants discussed further steps for integrating SDG principles into the educational process, thereby contributing to the training of professionals oriented towards sustainable development of the agro-industrial sector.
