Born on August 23, 1962 in the village Pidlypne, Konotop district, Sumy region. Since 1979 till 1984 he studied at Sumy branch of Kharkiv agricultural institute named after V.V. Dokuchaev, specialty "Zoo-technology". He started his work on the position of chief zoo-technician at the collective farm named after Lenin in Krolevets district of Sumy region. From 1987 to 1989 he studied at the postgraduate course of Moscow agricultural academy named after K.A. Tymiyriaziev.

From 1990 to 2003 he worked at Sumy national agrarian university on the positions of assistant, associate professor, pro-rector of foreign economic activity, first pro-rector. During this period he headed department of special zoo-technology and conducted the duties of the dean of the zoo engineering faculty.

From April 2003 to April 2005 director of Sumy state breeding center.

In March 2005, Ladyka Volodymyr Ivanovych took part in the competition for the vacant rector position of Sumy National Agrarian University, after which he was appointed as a rector on 22.04.2005 by the order of agrarian policy ministry of Ukraine.

Doctor of agricultural sciences, professor, member of the specialized scientific council at the institute of breeding and animal genetics of UAAS. Author of more than 100 scientific and methodological works.

Main subjects: "Technology of milk and beef production ", "Innovative technologies in dairy cattle breeding"

Field of research:

Conservation of the gene pool of local and endangered cattle breeds; breeding of dairy cattle breeds of Ukraine.

Improvement of breeding programs and technologies for dairy and beef cattle breeding;

Creating high-yielding breeds, herds and livestock types;

Development of breeding and technological programs for breeding dairy and beef cattle.

Grant, state budget and contracting topics:

SBT Substantiation of methodology for improvement and conservation of brown cattle population in the conditions of the north-eastern region of Ukraine 0117U004253 (2017-2019).
