He was born on November 7, 1951 in the village of Plishchyn, Shepetivsky District, Khmelnytskyi Region, in a peasant family.
1968-1971 – study at the Novochortorii Zoo Veterinary Technical School.
After graduating in 1980 from the Kishinev Agricultural Institute named after M. V. Frunze worked as a senior researcher at scientific research institutions of Moldova until 1991.
1991-1996 - head of the animal husbandry department of the Khmelnytskyi NPO "Elita" of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences;
1996-2006 - head of the laboratory of dairy cattle and the department of selection of rural animals of the Cherkasy Institute of APV of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences;
2006-2013 - Head of the Department of Animal Genetics, Breeding and Biotechnology of the Sumy National University of Science and Technology.
since 01.09.2013 - professor of the Department of Animal Genetics, Breeding and Biotechnology of Sumy National University of Science and Technology.
Scientific achievements: 1986 – defended a thesis for the candidate of the.-g. Sciences in the specialty 06.02.01 - breeding and selection of animals on the topic: "Effectiveness of crossing red steppe cows with bulls of specialized dairy breeds".
2005 – defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Science. of Sciences in the specialty 06.02.01 - breeding and selection of animals on the topic "Evaluation of the exterior of animals in the cattle breeding system".
2011 – received the title of professor of the Department of Animal Breeding and Selection of Sumy National Agrarian University.
The direction of scientific research. Selective improvement of livestock of newly created Ukrainian dairy breeds with an in-depth study of the practical and theoretical foundations of problematic issues in the evaluation and selection of animals of the desired type, taking into account exterior and constitutional features.
State budget topics. While working at Sumy NAU, he carried out work with DBT on the topics: "Preservation of the gene pool of Lebedyn and gray Ukrainian breeds of cattle" (2006); "Program of selective improvement of the newly created brown dairy breed of Ukraine for the period 2006-2015" (2006); "Preparation of modern regulatory documents on animal breeding and zootechnical issues in accordance with the requirements of ICAR, INTERBULL" (2009-2010); "Justification of the methodology of improving and preserving the population of brown cattle in the conditions of the North-Eastern region of Ukraine; (2017-2019)
Scientific achievements. Supervisor of 7 protected candidates, one Doctor of Philosophy and one Doctor of Science. The author of five inventions, 500 scientific works, including 6 monographs, 5 textbooks, 12 instructions and methodical recommendations, 4 breeding programs with breeds and 20 on the creation of highly productive dairy herds. Author of 10 articles indexed in Scopus and Web of Science Core Collection databases.
Head of the scientific school: selective improvement of dairy and combined breeds in the direction of consolidation in terms of productivity and exterior type.
