As part of the FAO project “Training and financial assistance for the development of dairy farming, aquaculture and beekeeping in Sumy region”, members of the project team of Sumy National Agrarian University, Mykhalko Oleksandr and Kuchkova Tetyana, visited entrepreneurs in the region engaged in aquaculture and freshwater fish farming. The purpose of the visit was to assess the effectiveness of the training and the financial support provided. SNAU representatives spoke with entrepreneurs who received grant assistance and learned how the knowledge and resources received contributed to the development of their farms. According to Oleksandr Mykhalko, the aquaculture trainings helped local entrepreneurs improve their professional level and introduce the latest technologies in fish farming. Tetyana Kuchkova noted that the financial support allowed project participants to purchase high-quality fish seedlings, equipment and feed, which significantly improved the productivity of their farms. “This is an example of successful cooperation between international organizations, scientists and local producers. We see how theoretical knowledge and practical assistance are transformed into real results,” added Kuchkova. The FAO project has become a significant step in supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Sumy region, contributing to the economic growth of the region and the implementation of sustainable approaches to agriculture.
