Winter School “My Choice – My Future”

 

As part of the Winter School event, on January 7, 2025, an event dedicated to cynology was held at the Sumy National Agrarian University. Its moderator was the head of the Department of Production and Processing Technology of Animal Husbandry and Cynology, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Yulia Pavlenko. The event brought together experts from various fields of cynology, who shared their knowledge and experience. The program included a number of interesting presentations, master classes and online sessions with international specialists. – Welcome speech and a story about the profession of a cynologist from Viktoriya Vechorka and Lyudmila Bula, who focused on the importance of cynology in the modern world. – Live broadcasts from the SES training center (cynologist instructor Yulia Secheyko) and the Baltic Cynological Center (director Vytautas Gustaitis), where participants were able to get acquainted with the work of cynologists in real conditions. – A master class on the work of detector dogs, held by the Canine Center of the Main Police Department in Sumy region, aroused lively interest due to the demonstration of practical skills of dogs in searching for objects. – The use of dogs in the rehabilitation of military personnel and children was considered: volunteer Viktoria Pirogova from Rivne and psychologist, canine therapist Antonina Goshovska shared their experience. – The event ended with a master class on dog training, conducted by associate professor of the department Lyudmila Bula. This event became an excellent platform for exchanging experience, discussing new approaches in canine science and popularizing this important field. Participants had a unique opportunity to see the work of professionals in various fields and learn more about modern technologies and methods of working with dogs. SNAU continues to promote the development of canine science and plans to organize similar events in the future that bring together professionals and students to exchange knowledge and experience.
