Education
1966–1971 — Studied at Gorky Kharkiv State University, specialty “Biology.”
1976 — Obtained the degree of Candidate of Biological Sciences in the specialty 03.00.15 – Genetics.
1982 — Awarded the academic rank of Senior Researcher in the specialty 03.00.15 – Genetics.
1995 — Defended the dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Biological Sciences in the specialty 03.00.15 – Genetics on the topic “Genetic foundations of breeding and using autosexing poultry.”
Professional Experience
1971–2010 — Worked at the Institute of Poultry Farming of the UAAS; held the position of Chief Researcher at the Department of Poultry Breeding and Genetics.
Since 2010 — Works at Sumy National Agrarian University (Head of the Department of Fodder Technology and Animal Feeding); currently Professor of the Department of Livestock Production and Processing Technologies and Cynology.
Main courses taught: “Animal Genetics with Biometrics,” “Fundamentals of Scientific Research and Patenting.”
Research Work
Research area: genetics and breeding of farm animals and poultry, population genetics, and anthropogenetics.
Supervised 4 Candidate of Sciences and 1 Doctor of Agricultural Sciences dissertations. Author of 190 scientific publications, including 4 author’s certificates for inventions, 5 sets of methodological recommendations, and 1 monograph.
State-funded and contract research: head and executor of state-funded project No. 0117U004086 “Improvement of hybridization techniques for domestic and Muscovy ducks and development of methods for sexing ducklings.”
