On April 17, 2026, a guest lecture was held for 11th grade students and teachers of the Sumy Specialized School of I-III Degrees No. 1 named after V. Strelchenko. The moderator of the event was Shcherbyna Yulia Mykhailivna, senior lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages of SNAU.
The topic of the lecture: “Youth Problems. Gerund / Infinitive”.
During the lesson, the following questions were considered:
- What problems do young people have today?
- Are youth problems the same in different countries? Why / why not?
- Do adults understand young people well?
- Is school stressful for teenagers? Why?
- How much time should teenagers spend online?
- Can the Internet cause problems for young people?
The atmosphere of cooperation reigned in the lesson: students lively discussed issues and worked in pairs, exchanging ideas. Special attention was paid to the formation of students’ grammatical competence in using the gerund and infinitive in speech. Interactive exercises and communicative tasks contributed to the effective assimilation of grammatical and lexical material. Modern educational technologies were used during the lesson. The atmosphere was friendly, conducive to the development of communicative skills and critical thinking.
