OPEN CLASS ON THE DISCIPLINE “FOREIGN LANGUAGE”

On March 5, 2026, the Department of Foreign Languages held an open practical class on the discipline “Foreign Language,” conducted by Senior Lecturer Yuliia SHCHERBYNA.

The class was held for the ETES 2501 group on the topic: “Lucky find. Possessive pronouns, whose, this/that, there/then.”

The practical session was aimed at developing the foreign-language communicative competence of the students. All stages of the lesson were logically interconnected, ensuring the comprehensive development of language skills: listening, reading, speaking, and grammatical competence. The established educational, developmental, and formative goals were fully realized.

The students demonstrated the ability to consciously apply the studied grammatical structures (possessive pronouns, whose, this/that, there/then) in their own speech, actively interact in pairs, and express their thoughts on the topic with argumentation.

Watching a vlog helped create an authentic language environment, fostered interest in the topic, and developed listening skills.

The use of platforms such as Quizlet, Wordwall, and Mentimeter activated the students’ cognitive activity and contributed to the development of collaboration and mutual monitoring skills.

The class met modern requirements for teaching a foreign language, fostered communicative competence, developed critical thinking, and increased motivation for further English language study.
