Within the framework of Academic Integrity Week, an online meeting was held on November 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Mykhailo Pyrkha, the lead specialist on corruption prevention and detection at Sumy National Agrarian University.
During the event, a report on the implementation of corruption prevention and counteraction measures at SNAU was presented, and the main risks, response mechanisms, and principles of forming an honest educational environment were reviewed. The speaker paid special attention to the role of students, faculty, and administration in maintaining transparent and fair procedures at the university.
The entire academic community joined the meeting, which underscored the importance of shared responsibility regarding ethics, integrity, and countering corruption.
PhD students of the Faculty of Biology and Technology participated particularly actively in the meeting, as issues of academic integrity and anti-corruption practices are extremely important to them in conducting their own scientific research. Members of the PhD community discussed the specifics of adhering to integrity standards in scientific work, the responsibility of researchers to ensure the transparency of their results, and the importance of fostering a culture of “zero tolerance” toward any manifestations of dishonesty. Such meetings contribute to strengthening young scientists’ professional ethics and to establishing high standards of research activity at the university.
The event became another important element of the comprehensive Academic Integrity Week program and helped increase awareness among students and university staff about standards of openness and responsibility.
