Senior Lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages, Olena Valentynivna Krekoten, participated in a professional linguistic seminar held in Lublin, Poland, on 27–28 March 2025, supported by the French Institute in Ukraine, part of the French Embassy’s cultural mission.
Over the course of the seminar, participants learned to analyse events in the contemporary French-speaking world through information presented in the press and media. They explored the use of authentic documents, as well as songs, short films, and images, in French language teaching across different proficiency levels. The seminar also addressed such topics as national identity, technological and linguistic evolution, inclusion, and the importance of combating discrimination in society.
Led by Madame Pascal Bali, a lecturer at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and an instructor at the CAVILAM language school, the seminar helped enhance the participants’ speaking skills and inspired them to adopt a culturally-oriented approach to language teaching based on current cultural and societal events in modern France.
