On 3 April 2025, the meeting of the English Speaking Club took place.
The online meeting was moderated by Olha Datsko, PhD in Pedagogy and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages.

The topic of the session was “Pros and Cons of Social Media and Its Impact on Communication and Relationships.”

During the meeting, participants discussed the following questions:

  1. What are some pros and cons of social media?
  2. How does social media affect our relationships and communication?
  3. Do you think people sometimes overshare personal information and forget about privacy? Why?
  4. Have you ever seen fake news online? How can we recognise it?
  5. Why do some people become addicted to social media?
  6. What can we do to stop cyberbullying and make the internet a safer place?
  7. Do you follow any social media influencers? How do they affect your decisions or preferences?

Participants took part in interactive activities, analysed real-life examples, and discussed the importance of critical thinking in the digital age.
